Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, don’t close the door! I only stepped inside to hide for a while. The coats feel soft and safe, but don’t lock me in, it’s dark in the back of the wardrobe. I want to keep my options open. Not forever––but for now.
Imagination is a powerful thing in the young. But I’m old. I know better than to believe in portals to other kingdoms. This world isn’t perfect but it is real.
Oh come on! I am not being closed-minded. I’m realistic. I put away childish things a long time ago.
Then what am I doing, hiding in the wardrobe? Well, that’s an interesting question we could explore––when I come out. And when might that be?
You ask a lot of questions. Hide and seek is supposed to be played in silence, otherwise you’re likely to be discovered. You think being found out is the point of the game? I suppose you’re right; hide for too long and the game gets boring, kinda like life. No one wants to be trapped in a wardrobe, even if there is a portal to another land. There isn’t really a portal is there?
